We are getting closer to the release of our new OCMX framework. We have been through no less than 30 design iterations and while Marc continues to develop the core code I have started slicing up the designs.
The aim of the new control panel is to make it lightweight, super easy to use and familiar. The design fits in perfectly with the WordPress look and feel, no more blue and pink, all the styles have been taken straight out of the WP book.
On top of this, OCMX will be a white label product, this means that designers and developers a like can rename the control panel to suit their clients needs. All very slick and very much required.
So with all the excitement brewing it is time for some teaser screenshots:
Home Page Layout
Included in all our latest themes is the option of multiple home page layouts. We have streamlined the setup process in the latest version of OCMX.

Advert Management
Expect an easier process when it comes to managing the adverts on your site.

Gallery Management
Drag & Drop functionality along with a smoother upload process. We have made our best efforts to streamline gallery uploads as best as possible. This is one of the biggest improvements made to OCMX and is definitely worth looking forward to!

When?
Expected launch date of the new OCMX system is mid-July. We will update our top selling themes with the new system and all future themes will be 100% integrated with the OCMX 2.0 Framework.

Looks great guys!
Just a question though. Why would you include something like that gallery system when the same functionality is already built into WordPress? WordPress 2.9 introduced an image editor, so you can easily edit your pictures, and the built in gallery feature already allows you to include/exclude certain photos from a gallery, choose size/number of columns, etc.
I'm not trying to put down the work, it looks truly fantastic, but I'm just curious as why you'd 'reinvent the wheel.'
On that note: I can't wait to see more previews! :D
Looks very good indeed.
Hi Spencer,
When we first created the OCMX Gallery feature it was back in Wordpress 2.7 when their gallery wasn't quite what we wanted.
We want a gallery which is lightweight and quick to use as well as have a completely unique layout for each theme, something we can't really control with the Wordpress galleries (since the user can change the layout at will).
Glad you like the previews!
Very cool previews, guys. Liking how straight forward it looks to update galleries in the system. :)
Looking forward to launch, guys! Hopefully not too many late nights ahead. ;)
Cheers, Matty.
Looks awesome. Can't wait to try it out.
Very cool. Keep up the good work guys..
Looking good. What license will the framework be released under?
