All of our eCommerce WordPress themes are fantastic straight out of the box. By using the WordPress customizer options you can make quick and easy changes to make our themes your own.
Having spent time talking to some of our customers who run their own online shops and are using our themes I've put together a little tips post to help you take your shop even further and hopefully get you more sales.
Product Photography
Showing off your products is *really* important. On your website, your photographs are your products. Unlike an actual physical store where your customers can come inside and look around and physically feel your products in their hand.
You should think prior to completely your theme styling about the orientation of your photos and what background color they will need or no background at all if you require them to be transparent. Taking the right photographs and multiple photographs is important to show off your products.
All of our eCommerce themes give you the ability to upload multiple photos per item.
Unique Product Descriptions
Bad product descriptions can lose sales, great product descriptions can gain sales. If you can put across what the product is within the title and short description in the first 5 seconds of reading, you're in the golden time to get a new customer at your store.
Try to make sure that your product descriptions are not duplicated and make each one unique. This could take a long while for a store with a 1000 items but it's worthwhile in the long run. It can even help with SEO.
Quality Content ONLY
Whilst you should look to create unique product descriptions you should also try to make sure that your entire site is full of quality content ONLY. From your standard about page to product descriptions and blog posts, the more quality content you push on your website the more knowledgeable you look online.
You can move from being another website on the internet to the leading store all through knowing everything there is to know about your products. Customers build trust easily when it looks like the website they're visiting knows what they're talking about.
Highlight Your Advantages
If you figure out what your selling proposition is you can start focusing your efforts to highlighting them. As an example if you are able to provide free shipping on all purchases you could push this message near your product description and prominently on your homepage.
Have you incorporated any of these things in to your store, have they had a generous effect on your sales? Let us know in the comments!
