“We hate being normal”
We have been following this motto for pretty much our entire lives.
We like to think of ourselves as non-conformists from time to time. We have always tended to go against the grain even when, at the time, it seems like a crazy thing to do.
First Tumblr, now Posterous
For a while now we have noticed an open goal, so while everyone flocked to Tumblr we saw an opportunity to set ourselves apart from the rest.
Today we are happy to announce that we have done a deal with Posterous to supply them with five themes which they will be including in their theme directory. They will all be free with three of them are already up for grabs.
Even though it's subtle, the benefits are clear: it broadens our reputation as theme developers and gives us a huge increase in brand exposure. Most importantly there will now be slightly more variety in the Posterous theme directory which has been lacking for some time now.
The Themes
The deal we have done covers the supply of five themes which will be available to all Posterous users in the 'Customize' section of the Posterous admin area.
All the themes follow a minimal design as they tend to please a broader audience.
Two of them were already available on Obox before however they have now been renamed and passed on exclusively to Posterous.
MyList
We are most proud of the theme as it has not been done before in the Posterous space. Ideal if you are a designer or photographer you could use a layout such as this to display your work.

Mad Men
Formally known as Smoke & Tumble this theme received over 20,000 downloads and has been modified by quite a few of those using it today.

Post Press
Formally known as Micro.Press, works just like MadMen but with a different look and feel.

Coming soon
We also have two brand new themes in the pipeline which we are busy developing and testing. Here are sneak peaks:
Minimal
A simple minimally designed blog layout, just something different from the standard Posterous theme.

Wired Inspired
Content focussed with a slight grungy touch.

Obox now supplies themes to both Tumblr and Posterous. Not bad for two peeps having a chill in Hout Bay, Cape Town.
As you can imagine we are super proud to be able to announce this and we hope that those of you who use Posterous are happy with your new themes!

Nice gents!
I hope Posterous really appreciates you guys. One area where they should be jealous of Tumblr is themes, and in one stroke today two of the three you added were used by both my blogs. MyList, especially, is just what I was looking for. Great job!
