Following the success of Through the Lens it is high time that we launch a new photography orientated theme.
We present to you, 'Photolist', the latest photo WordPress theme to be released from Obox and our first theme based entirely off the new OCMX control panel.
This theme has been designed entirely around its content with an incredibly slick slider which we are particularly proud of as well as some neat features for those who want to blog as well.
Galleries and Filters
Unlike Through the Lens, galleries in Photolist are created with our new gallery plugin which features drag 'n drop functionality as well as the ability to add filters to your images.

The filters we have included are:
- Grey Scale
- Negative
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Gaussian Blur
- Colorize
If you decide to use this theme as a blog you can also apply these filters to blog post feature images when creating a new post.
Design
As with all our new themes Photolist has three home page options including Blog, Preset and Widgetized layout.

In terms of design it to follows a minimalist scheme in order to give you maximum scope to build upon it. There are 7 different color schemes to choose from including a dark minimalst version which we think is rather tasty.
Custom post type: Quotes
Also included in this new beauty is a custom post type for Quotes which are also included in the Preset and Widgetised home page layouts so that you can display the feedback you get from fans or clients.

Swell stuff man!
I think the image caption should only be visible for a few seconds then disappear, and only reappear on mouse hover.
I personally find it a bit disturbing and would like to be able to view the full image, just an opinion.
Good work again, cheeeeeers
Thanks for the feedback Pedro. Based on general feedback from our users they prefer the titles stay displayed rather than hidden. However one mod we are considering is decreasing the padding of that containing block a bit :)
The comment "submit" button on the blog (not sure about the rest of the site) makes the footer jump on hover, as it seems to gain/lose a border element.
Viewing in FF v3.6 on Windows :)
@Kate - Thanks for pointing that out Kate, we have corrected the issue. Will be updating demo shortly.
Great job guys but I agree with the previous post that it would be nice to have titles on rollover only. Additionally, I'd like to see an option to set the height dimension for the slider. Most photos don't look good in that cropped size... the aspect ratio of the slider (although it has a slick high def look), when compared to most camera sensors dimensions, is way off and will only display certain images well. Need to keep the aspect ratio a variation of the typical out of camera 4256 pixels by 2832 (maybe 902 x 600 for e.g.) so it minimizes cropping - would be fabulous to be able to set the height dimensions of the slider. Lastly, most photographers need to jump on the dSLR video band wagon if they want to survive so a video component to this theme would bring it over the edge.
@Paul - Thanks for the great suggestion :) We are considering adding that as a feature to Photolist.
