When it comes to using a plugin to convert your theme into something readable on your mobile, the options are quite limited. We can only think of one or two solutions out there which are reliable and have an appealing design (even that is questionable).
We would like to add some Obox love to this market and in doing so we have started development of an Obox Themes Mobile plugin called OCMX Mobile.
When visiting your site, this WordPress plugin will convert your site into a theme which will suit the layout of your phone and allow for easy to read content while still maintaining design integrity and slick front end functionality (that is quite a mouthful).
As it stands we are looking at ways in which we can build multiple themes on top of the platform without you having to get your hands dirty with PHP code.
If you are wondering if OCMX Mobile will work with any theme the answer is yes. It will plugin to Obox themes or stand alone and function on any WordPress install that you use.
The intention here is to create something which looks good, is quick to read/scan and will load fast on your phone.
BETA Testing
Because we have only iPhones at Obox HQ we are looking for one or two Android users who are willing to BETA test the plugin on their phones. I've been looking forward to an app like this for some time now. Great job guys!
I'm also curious how it is going to handle custom post-types/taxonomies as my sites rely very heavily upon them. I am also using a multi-relational post-type setup to make it even more confusing for mobile themes.
