July has been an awesome month for Obox Themes and so we would like to end it with a bang.
Today, we are finally able to launch our new OCMX control panel. Every line of code has been rewritten and the look and feel completely changed in order to fit in with the WordPress UI.
We have created a comprehensive landing page for the OCMX plugin which you can find here, but to summarize some of the great features:
Logo Upload Memory
If you want to change your logo back to one you have used previously there is no longer a need to reupload it, we now keep a history of all your previous logo uploads which you can easily select from.
Home Page Layouts
We have created a special place to manage your home page layouts with a more visual UI and controls. Select between two preset layouts, Blog and Business, or determine your own layout with the Widgetized option.
Advert Management
A much improved user experience compared to the last system we created for OCMX. Quickly and easily add or remove adverts and we now feature a 3rd party script option as well as multiple block sizes.
Create Galleries
The gallery management tool has been completely done over and features a much more intuitive UI with drag & drop ordering, automatic post type creation and image dimension control. This is definitely the feature we are most proud of and cannot wait to hear your feedback on.
New SEO Controls
We have included a completely new feature to OCMX, you can now take more control of your SEO with our lightweight plugin. We tried our best to include the most important elements while keeping it uncomplicated and understandable.
The new system is also as white label as we could possibly get it which means easy rebranding for custom theme developers who want to use our system for clients with unique design requirements.
We have decided to release the new OCMX in our 3 best selling themes, we will be updating the others during this week.
Themes available with OCMX 2.0 are:
The aim for OCMX '2.0' is to create a platform where we can build some excellent features upon. What you see today is just the beginning for what we believe will develop into something comprehensive in terms of features and usability.
We think if you consider what is now packed behind each of our themes and our price point, there are very few options which can compete on this level of awesome design, functionality and affordability.
As always we would love to hear your comments about what you think of the new design and ideas that have gone into the control panel.
(We tried to include a video but the upload keeps failing, we promise to try get something up later this week)

This might seem a stupid question but... so how do I access the new control panel / features? Do I need to reinstall my install of Press theme, replace just some files, or pay you all over again? Thanks for any help. It looks really exciting!!
Hi Brittany,
You won't need to purchase the theme again, you can download the latest files from your profile, and then follow the steps listed in the OCMX forum.
Thanks
Looks great guys! Keep up the good work.
How do we download the latest files form our profile? Will it show up as an update on the dashboard?
I tried downloading the latest hotfix from the forum - when I activated it, it said the current theme (Press) was broken and reverted to the default...
Hi Arlin,
You'll need to re-download the original theme zip file (not the hotfix) from your profile.
I'm going to put a notification on everyone's profile now.
Thanks
Good work guys, this looks link an awesome update to an already quality product. Can't wait for the update to be added to Depth so I can give it a try on my current side-project.
@Steve - The new OCMX is now available on Depth ;)
Any plan to update to OCMX the THROUGH The LENS theme soon?
@Luca - We are busy with the conversion. It should be done by next week. Sorry about the delay, it is our most complex theme in terms of functionality so we are trying to bring it inline with the rest of the themes we have which is why it is taking time.
So, next week we should see the "Left Handed" theme updated with the new OCMX?
@Jimmy - Yep ;)
