At Obox HQ we have quietly been testing some new banner designs for our Affiliate Program.
We wanted to see what different colors and different copy can do to Click Through Rates (CTR) and Sales.
The banners were designed to catch your readers eye and evoke a click (as opposed to just looking 'pretty'), the results have been narrowed down to two banners which share the same design. They are short, sweet and literally to the point.
The results show that these banners have performed significantly better than previous banner designs. If you login to your profile section, you will be able to access to the new banners in different block sizes.

You are exactly right, these do have great clickthrough rates when tested on my site.
The on request I would have is that we could get one for each focus: on that just says "Beautiful Tumblr Themes" and "Beautiful Posterous Themes" so they can be used on specific sites that pertain to each platform.
Let me know if this is possible, I'm sure it would improve clickthroughs on my sites!
